Zombies

A few nights ago, after seeing Walking Dead (a television show, in case you've been living under a rock like me when it comes to popular shows) mentioned so many times on Facebook that I just had to ask (and still wish I hadn't), Reezle overheard me talking about my horrifying introduction via YouTube clips to her dad. So at bedtime, we have the following conversation:

R: "I heard you talking to dad about a zombie show."

Me: "Uh huh. I don't plan to watch it. Five minutes was more than enough."

R: "Zombies are gross. Their arms fall right off and stuff."

Me: "Yeah. They are kinda gross."

R: "You know, some people think zombies are real."

Me:"Oh yeah?"

R: "Yeah. In fact, when they meet new people, they give their arm a good pull just in case."

I laughed for about 10 minutes.

(No offense to the billion of you who like Walking Dead. It gives me the creeps.)

Our Big Classroom Is A Little Different

Mama Bonn: It's Take Your Pet to School day! Every day!

R: Yeah!

Mama Bonn: And Take Your Teddy Bear to School Day!

R: And Take Your Stuffed Animals to School Day!

Mama Bonn: Yep, and how about Bring Your Snuggly Blanket to School Day?

R: Yeah! And Wear Your Pajamas to School Day!

Mama Bonn: Uh huh, and Eat PB & J Crackers at Your Desk Day!

R: And Bring Your Home to School Day! And Bring Your Little Brother to School Day!

My views on traditional schooling aren't rosy, and I express my opinions on the topic regularly. That said, I don't berate parents who choose that path by choice or out of necessity. Reezle

Reezle is 10 years old, and the artist and birdwatcher of the family. Her creative and curious mind is always working on some exciting new project, and her compassion for others is absolutely inspiring. She is in 4th grade, and her favorite subjects are science, history, and art. She wants to be a nutritionist when she grows up so she can help people prevent and reverse diseases. She plans to create a small organic farm and share some of the foods at her job as part of her “nutrition therapy” plan. Reezle also loves animals, especially cats and horses, and is always looking for ways to be involved with helping them.
